The 4 days Jambay Lhakhang festival is held at the Jambay Lhakhang in Bumthang valley proper, which was built in the 7th century for the revered Maitreya Buddha, the next compassion Buddha in waiting and is one of the oldest temples in the country. Masked dances and bonfires commemorate the establishment of this 7th century Lhakhang.
