10 Days Jambay Lhakhang Drup Festival

The Singye Cham (Lion dance) is held at the jambay Lhakhang in Bumthang. The jambay Lhakhang Singye Cham is performed once a year.
The 10 days Jambay Lhakhang Bhutan festival tour is held at the Jambay Lhakhang in Bumthang valley proper, which was built in the 7th century for the revered Maitreya Buddha, the next compassion Buddha in waiting and is one of the oldest temples in the country. Masked dances and bonfires commemorate the establishment of this 7th century Lhakhang. The highlights of the Jambay Lhakhang festival is the fire ritual that is held at midnight where crowds gather to witness the ritual. A naked dance is also performed where the dancers only have their masks on.

Day 02. Paro – Bumthang (Flight).
Day 03. Bumthang sightseeing + Festival.
Day 04. Bumthang: Jambay Lhakhang Drup Festival.
Day 05. Bumthang – Trongsa – Gangtey (130 kms – 5 hours).
Day 06. Gangtey – Punakha (74.7 kms. – 4 hours).
Day 07. Punakha – Thimphu (76 kms – 3 hours).
Day 08. Thimphu Sightseeing.
Day 09. Thimphu – Paro (56 kms. 1 hour).
Day 10. Departure.
