Chhukha Festival.

1st – 3rd Nov. 2022 | Venue: Chhukha Dzong, Chhukha.

The annual Chhukha festival is for 3 days and is held at the courtyard of Chukha Dzong. Different mask dances and Traditional Folk dances are performed during the festival by the monks and local people. These dances are performed as an offering to the Bhutanese patron saint, Guru Rimpoche. On the third day, a large Throngdroel (Tapestry) of Guru Rimpoche is unfurled which is the highlight of the festival. People come from far and near to get blessed with this Throngdroel.

Sketch Itinerary for Chhukha Festival:

Day 1. Arrive Paro – Thimphu (Distance: 54 km, 1 hr drive).

Day 2. Thimphu Sightseeing.

Day 3. Thimphu – Punakha.

Day 4. Punakha – Wangdiphodrang – Thimphu.

Day 5. Thimphu – Chhukha Festival – Paro.

Day 6. Paro Sightseeing.

Day 7. Paro sightseeing (Tiger’s Nest).

Day 8. Departure: (Altitude 2280 m).
