Dechenphu Festival.

The annual Dechenphu festival is one of the Bhutanese festivals held for just one day. This festival is dedicated to Gay Ngyen Jakpa Melen, a powerful guardian deity of Bhutan. Some of the important mask dances performed during the festival includes the Zhananga Cham, Genyen Kunchaam, Shazam Cham, and Nga Cham. Many traditional and classical dances are also performed.

Sketch Itinerary for Dechenphu Festival:

Day 1. Arrive Paro – Thimphu (54 km, 1 hr drive).

Day 2. Thimphu Sightseeing.

Day 3. Thimphu – Punakha (76 Km, 3 hrs drive).

Day 4. Punakha – Wangdiphodrang – Thimphu.

Day 5. Thimphu – Dechenphu Festival.

Day 6. Thimphu – Paro Sightseeing.

Day 7. Paro sightseeing (Tiger’s Nest).

Day 8. Paro – Departure.
