Jakar Festival.

1st – 3rd Nov. 2022 | Venue: Jakar Dzong, Bumthang.

This three day annual Jakar festival in Bumthang is held in the courtyard of Jakar Dzong or “The Castle of a White Bird”. The Jakar festival showcases several sacred mask dances besides different folk songs and dances that are performed. The People witness the festival dressed in their finest clothes and is one of the most popular festivals among tourists. The festival is held in the mid autumn.

Day 1.  Arrive Paro.

Day 2. Paro Sightseeing.

Day 3. Paro – Bumthang (Flight to Bumthang).

Day 4. Bumthang (Witness the Jakar festival).

Day 5. Bumthang sightseeing – Excursion to Ogyen Choling Palace.

Day 6. Bumthang – Trongsa – Gangtey.

Day 7. Gangtey – Punakha.

Day 8. Punakha – Thimphu sightseeing.

Day 9. Thimphu sightseeing.

Day 10. Thimphu – Paro (Hike to the Tiger’s Nest monastery).

Day 11. Paro – Departure.
