Jambay Lhakhang Festival.

8th – 12th Nov. 2022 | Venue: Jambay Lhakhang, Bumthang.

Jambay Lhakhang festival is a very famous event in Bhutan and is held at the 7th century old Jambay Lhakhang. This temple is one of the 108 temples built by Srongtsen Gampo of Tibet in one day. The “Ter Cham” or “The Fire ritual” popularly known as the naked dance is performed at midnight. The local people and tourists alike gather to witness the ritual.

Day 1. Arrive Paro.

Day 2. Paro – hike to the Tiger’s Nest (Taktsang).

Day 3. Paro – Bumthang sightseeing (Flight to Bumthang).

Day 4. Bumthang sightseeing and Jambay Lhakhang Festival.

Day 5. Bumthang sightseeing and Jambay Lhakhang Festival.

Day 6. Bumthang – Trongsa – Gangtey (143 kms – 5 hours).

Day 7. Gangtey – Punakha (74.7 kms – 3 hours).

Day 8. Punakha – Thimphu (76 kms – 3 hours).

Day 9. Thimphu Sightseeing – Paro.

Day 10. Paro – Departure.
