Jomolhari Mountain Festival is celebrated at the base of Mt. Jomolhari by the local communities. The festival celebrates the culture of the communities living together with the natural wonders that surround them. The one in particular is the elusive, yet elegant, snow leopard. This endangered cat thrives in the region and is one of the best snow leopard habitats in Bhutan.
Sketch Itinerary for Jumolhari Mountain Festival:
Day 1. Arrive Paro (Altitude 2280 m) – Thimphu (54 km, 1 hr drive).
Day 2. Thimphu Sightseeing.
Day 3. Thimphu – Punakha (Altitude 1310 m, 76 Km, 3 hrs drive).
Day 4. Punakha – Wangdiphodrang – Paro.
Day 5. Paro – Hike to the Tiger’s Nest.
Day 6. Paro – Shana – Thangthangka.
Day 7. Thangthangka – Jangothang.
Day 08. Jumolhari Mountain Festival.
Day 09. Jumolhari Mountain festival.
