Lhuentse Festival.

30th Dec. 2022 – 1st Jan. 2023 | Venue: Gangzur, Lhuentse Dzong.

The Lhuentse festival is held at the Lhuentse Dzong and draws people from all over the district. The religious mask dances are the main attractions of the festival. It is also the best time to witness women of Lhuentse wear the famous Kishuthara – the intricately hand woven Kira (women’s’ dress). This district is the birth place of some of the most intricate and beautiful textiles.

Day 01.  Arrive Paro.

Day 02. Paro – Bumthang (flight).

Day 03. Bumthang – Lhuentse (229 kms, 9 hours drive).

Day 04. Lhuentse – Witness the Lhuentse Festival (whole Day).

Day 05. Lhuentse – Bumthang.

Day 06. Bumthang sightseeing.

Day 07. Bumthang – Trongsa – Gangtey (146 kms, 5 hours drive).

Day 08. Gangtey – Punakha.

Day 09. Punakha – Thimphu (76 kms. 2 hour drive)

Day 10. Thimphu Sightseeing.

Day 11.  Thimphu – Paro (hike to Taktsang monastery).
