Paro Festival 2022.

12- 16 April 2022 | Venue: Rimpung Dzong, Paro.

The five day Bhutan Paro festival is held at Rinpung Dzong in Paro during the spring season. It is one of the most spectacular festivals in the country and a major tourist attraction from around the world. On the first day, all mask dances are held inside the courtyard of Rinpung Dzong. In subsequent days, the courtyard outside the dzong hosts the festival. The Paro Festival hosts the most prominent display of the world’s greatest Thanka or Throngdroel in the whole of Bhutan.

Bhutan Paro Festival Itinerary:

Day 1. Arrive Paro – Thimphu sightseeing (Distance: 54 km, 1 hr drive).

Day 2. Thimphu Sightseeing.

Day 3. Thimphu – Punakha sightseeing (76 Km, 2 ½ hrs drive).

Day 4. Punakha – Gangtey sightseeing (66 km, 2 hrs).

Day 5. Gangtey – Thimphu (143 km – 4 hrs.)

Day 6. Thimphu – Paro Sightseeing.

Day 7. Paro – Witness Paro festival.

Day 8. Paro – Witness Paro Festival.

Day 9. Paro sightseeing – Hike to the Tiger’s Nest (Taktsang).

Day 10. Paro – Departure: Witnessing Throngdroel ceremony at 3 am and End of Bhutan Paro festival.
