Tharpaling Festival.

18 March 2022 | Venue: Tharpaling Lhakhang, Bumthang.

The Tharpaling festival coincides with the death anniversary of Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. It is held at the courtyard of Tharpaling monastery and is for just a day. The mask dances such as Black hat dance, three Ging and others are performed by the monks. A Throngdroel representing the Maitreya Buddha is unfurled for the public and it is the main highlight of the festival.

Day 01. Arrive Paro.

Day 02. Paro – Bumthang (Flight to Bumthang).

Day 03. Bumthang sightseeing – Excursion to Ogen Choling palace.

Day 04. Bumthang – Tharpaling Festival.

Day 05. Bumthang – Trongsa – Gangtey (146 kms – 5 hours).

Day 06. Gangtey – Punakha (75 kms. – 2 hours).

Day 07. Punakha – Thimphu (76 kms – 2 ½ hours).

Day 08. Thimphu Sightseeing.

Day 09. Thimphu – Paro (54 kms. 1 hour).

Day 10. Paro – Departure.
