Wangdue Festival.

3rd – 5th Oct 2022 | Venue: Wangduephodrang Dzong.

The Wangdue festival is held in Wangduephodrang and is observed for three days in the autumn season. The Tshechu is well known for the Raksha Mangchum or the dance of the Ox. Many different kinds of mask dances are performed during the festival. It concludes with the unfurling of the Guru Tshengye Thongdrol.

Day 01. Arrive Paro (Altitude 2280 m) – Thimphu.
Day 02. Thimphu Sightseeing.
Day 03. Thimphu – Punakha (Altitude 1310 m, 76 Km, 3 hrs drive).
Day 04. Punakha – Wangdue Festival (14 kms, 30 minutes drive) – Full day witness the festival.
Day 05. Witness the festival.
Day 06. Punakha – Paro sightseeing (Distance 130 km, 4 hours drive).
Day 07. Paro – Hike to the Tiger’s Nest monastery.
Day 08. Departure.
