Afternoon – witness the archery matches at Changlimithang stadium.
In the evening, visit Tashichho dzong, the royal secretariat.

Punakha is the ancient capital of Bhutan until the rule of the second king of Bhutan.
On the way, visit Dochu La pass (Altitude 3140 m).
Then visit Chimi lhakhang built in the honor of Drukpa Kuenley. He was known as The divine madman for his unorthodox ways of teaching Buddhism often with sexual overtones.
Afternoon – Visit Punakha dzong built in 1637 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck convened the first national assembly here in 1952.
Then hike to the beautiful Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Choling monastery.
In the evening, walk across the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan (160 meters).

In the morning, drive to Gangtey and Phobjikha valley.
Note: The upper part of the valley is called Gangtey and lower part is Phobjikha which is a cup-shaped glacial valley.
– Phobjikha valley is considered the most beautiful valley in the Himalayas. It is the roosting ground for the rare black necked cranes.
A short stop on the way to view Wangdue Phodrang dzong built in 1638 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.
– Visit Gangtey Gompa monastery built in 1613 by Gyaltse Pema Thinley. This monastery also hosts the annual Gangtey festival.
– Then visit black necked Crane information center.
In the evening, explore the beautiful valley of Phobjikha (3000 m).

On the way, visit Trongsa dzong was built in the year 1648.
– Then visit Ta dzong was built in 1652 by Chogyal Minjur Tempa.
In the afternoon, drive further to Bumthang.

Morning – visit Jakar dzong and Jambay Lhakhang built by king Srongtsen Gampo of Tibet in the year 659 AD.
Then visit Chakhar lhakhang and Kenchosum monastery built in the 6th century.
Afternoon – visit Tamshing lhakhang, Kurjey lhakhang and Kencho sum lhakhang.

In the morning, drive to the beautiful Tang valley. On the way, visit to Mebar tsho or “The Burning lake”.
While in Tang valley, visit to Ogen Choling palace museum. A palace converted into a museum to preserve its legacy and provide a place for religious studies, research and solitude. The fascinating and well-captioned exhibits offer real insights into the lifestyle of a Bhutanese noble family.

In the afternoon, visit to Ta dzong (national museum of Bhutan).
Then visit Rinpung dzong (Venue for annual Paro festival) built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. It is the finest illustration of Bhutanese architecture and craftsmanship you’ll see. So impressive it is that even scenes of 1995 film, Little Buddha were filmed here.
