  • Day 02. Thimphu sightseeing.
  • Day 03. Thimphu – Punakha sightseeing (Altitude 1242 m, 76 km, 2 hour drive).
  • Day 04. Punakha – Gangtey sightseeing (Altitude 3200 m, 75 km, 2 hour drive).
  • Day 05. Gangtey – Trongsa sightseeing – Bumthang (Altitude 2600 m, 156 km, 5 hour drive).
  • Day 06. Bumthang sightseeing.
  • Day 07. Bumthang sightseeing – Excursion to Ogen Choling palace.

10 DAYS BHUTAN TOUR (Detail Itinerary):

Day 01. Arrive Paro – Thimphu sightseeing (54 km, 1 hour drive):

Your guide and driver will receive you at the Airport and drive to Thimphu.

A short stop on the way to view Tamchog Monastery built in the 15th century by Thang Thong Gyalpo.

Afternoon – visit to Memorial chorten, Tallest Statue of Buddha (169 feet), Changangkha Lhakhang, Takin Preserve center and Dupthop nunnery.

In the evening, free to stroll in the town for shopping and photography.

Overnight in Hotel.

Day 02. Thimphu Sightseeing:

In the Morning, sightseeing around Thimphu valley. A small vibrant city with a population of almost One hundred and fifty thousand people. It is the only capital city in the world with no traffic lights.

Visit to National Postal Museum, Craft Bazaar, Textile Museum and School of 13 Arts and Crafts (Painting school).

Lunch at Simply Bhutan Museum restaurant.

Afternoon – witness the Archery matches at Changlimithang stadium.

In the evening, visit Tashichho Dzong, the Royal Secretariat.

Day 03. Thimphu – Punakha sightseeing (76 Km, 2 hour drive):

In the morning, drive to the beautiful Punakha valley. Punakha was also an ancient capital of Bhutan until the rule of the Second King of Bhutan.

On the way, visit Dochu La Pass (Altitude 3140 m). Then visit Chimi Lhakhang built in the honor of Drukpa Kuenley. He was known as The Divine Madman for his unorthodox ways of teaching Buddhism often with sexual overtones.

Afternoon – Visit Punakha Dzong built in 1637 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck convened the First National Assembly here in 1952.

Then hike to the beautiful Khamsung Yulley Namgyal Choling Monastery. This is one of the high lights of 10 Days Bhutan tour.

In the evening, walk across the Longest Suspension Bridge in Bhutan (160 meters).

Day 04. Punakha –Wangdiphodrang – Gangtey sightseeing (75 km, 2 hour drive):

In the Morning, drive to Gangtey and Phobjikha valley. The upper part of the valley is called Gangtey and lower part is Phobjikha which is a Cup-shaped glacial valley. Phobjikha valley is considered the most beautiful valley in the Himalayas. It is the roosting ground for the rare Black necked cranes.

A short stop on the way to view Wangdiphodrang Dzong built in 1638 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.

Visit Gangtey Gompa Monastery built in 1613 by Gyaltse Pema Thinley. Then visit Crane Information center.

In the evening, explore the beautiful valley of Phobjikha (Altitude 3000 m).

Day 05. Gangtey – Trongsa sightseeing – Bumthang (156 km, 5 hour drive):

In the Morning, drive to the beautiful Bumthang valley, often referred to as the Switzerland of Bhutan. It is the spiritual heartland and the cultural hub of Bhutan.

On the way, visit Trongsa Dzong was built in the year 1648. Then visit Ta Dzong was built in 1652 by Chogyal Minjur Tempa.

In the Afternoon, drive further to Bumthang.

Day 06. Bumthang sightseeing:

Morning – visit Jakar Dzong and Jambay Lhakhang built by King Srongsen Gampo of Tibet in the year 659 AD.  Then visit Chakhar Lhakhang and Kenchosum Monastery built in the 6th century.

Afternoon – visit Tamshing Lhakhang, Kurjey Lhakhang and Kencho sum Lhakhang.

In the evening, free to stroll in the town.

Day 07. Bumthang – Excursion to Ogen Choling Palace Museum (40 km. 1 ½ hours drive):

In the morning, drive to the beautiful Tang valley.

On the way, visit to Mebar Tsho or “The Burning Lake”.

While in Tang valley, visit to Ogen Choling Palace Museum. A palace converted into a museum to preserve its legacy and provide a place for religious studies, research and solitude. The fascinating and well-captioned exhibits offer real insights into the lifestyle of a Bhutanese noble family.

Free to stroll in the town.

Day 08. Bumthang – Paro sightseeing (Flight to Paro, 25 minutes):

In the Morning, drive to the Airport and fly to Paro.

Your guide will receive you at the Airport and drive to the Hotel.

In the Afternoon, visit to Ta Dzong (National Museum).

Then visit Rinpung Dzong built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. It is the finest illustration of Bhutanese architecture and craftsmanship you’ll see. So impressive it is that even scenes of 1995 film, Little Buddha were filmed here.

In the evening, free to stroll in the town for shopping and photography.

Day 09. Paro Sightseeing – Hike to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery:

In the Morning, drive to Satsam Chorten and 2 hour hike till the Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang). This is the main highlight of 10 days Bhutan tour.

Afternoon – visit Drugyal Dzong built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.

Then visit Kichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest monasteries in Bhutan built it in 659 AD  by King Srongtsen Gampo.

In the evening, free to stroll in the town for shopping and photography.

Overnight in Hotel.

Day 10. Departure (End of 10 Days Bhutan Tour):

After breakfast, drive to the airport and farewell.
