In the morning, drive to Gangtey. On the way, visit to:
– Trongsa dzong built in 1648 by Chogyal Minjur Tempa. Both the 1st and 2nd King ruled the country from this ancient seat.
– Ta dzong, the royal heritage museum.
In the afternoon, visit to Gangtey Gompa monastery founded in 1613 by Gyaltse Pema Thinley, the grandson of Pema Lingpa.
In the evening, explore Phobjikha valley, the most beautiful glacial valley in the Himalayas. This valley is also the roosting ground of the rare black necked cranes in winter.
