In the afternoon, the trail gradually ascends to the ruins of the Barshong dzong, reaching the camp.

The Jomolhari trek in Bhutan is a fairly difficult trek and the trekkers have to walk above 4000 m several times. The highest point of Jomolhari trek is 4930 m at Yalila pass.
Jomolhari trek itinerary is for 7 days now. It used to be 9 days trek starting from Drugyel dzong and ending at Dodena in upper Thimphu. However, there is a road going from Drugyel dzong till Shana now and also there is a feeder road from Dodena to Barshong. So the trekking trail has shortened by 2 days.
