How much does it cost to visit Bhutan from Poland?

All International tourists including Polish citizens (Except for Indian nationals) wishing to visit Bhutan have to pay US $ 100 per person per night as Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) to the Royal Government of Bhutan. Besides the Sustainable Development Fee, the tourists have to pay entry fees for monuments and festival visits.

Our package rates given below are inclusive of Sustainable Development Fee (SDF). These rates apply uniformly to trekking, cultural tour or festival trips.

  • Solo Traveler: US $ 340 per night.
  • 2 persons in a group: US $ 280 per person per night stay in Bhutan.
  • 3 persons or more in a group: US $ 270 per person per night stay in Bhutan.

Bhutan Visa fee for Polish citizens is US $ 40 per person per trip and is payable along with the trip cost.

How to get Bhutan visa for Polish citizens/nationals:

The procedure to obtain Bhutan visa for Polish citizens / nationals visiting Bhutan is the same as any other international tourists.

You have to send a scanned copy of the photo page of your passport to your Tour Operator in Bhutan. The local Bhutanese Tour operator will process the tourist visa for you with the Department of Immigration, Thimphu Bhutan. It normally takes 2-3 days to obtain e-Bhutan visa and your Bhutanese travel agent will e-mail you a copy of it. You have to carry this document when you board your flight to Bhutan. The actual Bhutan visa will be stamped in your passport at the Immigration counter in Paro International airport.

Please note that no Foreign Missions or Embassies abroad can issue Bhutan visa for Polish citizens / nationals.

Flights to Bhutan from Poland (Warsaw and other cities):

There are no direct flights to Bhutan from Poland (Warsaw or other cities). Hence, you have to fly into Bhutan via New Delhi (India) or Kathmandu (Nepal). Bhutan Airlines and Drukair are the only airlines that operate flights in and out of Paro International airport, the only airport in Bhutan. These Airlines operate flights to and from New Delhi (DEL) and Kathmandu (KTM) on daily basis. For those wishing to combine Bhutan trip with Nepal and Tibet should fly either way from Kathmandu. Drukair and Bhutan Airlines also fly to Bangkok, Thailand (BKK) on alternate basis for those wishing to travel to Bangkok before or after your Bhutan trip.

Drukair / Bhutan Airlines Fares:

The Fares given below are for round trip and are kept at par for both the Airlines.

  • Delhi – Paro – Delhi Fare: US $ 604 (Economy) & US $ 1033 (Business).
  • Kathmandu – Paro – Kathmandu Fare: US $ 468 (Economy) & US $ 710 (Business).
  • Bangkok – Paro – Bangkok Fare: US $ 906 (Economy) & US $ 1290 (Business).

Most flights from New Delhi to Paro and return flights are routed via Kathmandu and the lay over time is 45 minutes. 

Note: Passenger flying in and out of Bangkok should use Suvarnabhumi airport.

  • 30 Kg in Economy class & 40 Kg in Business Class.
  • Infants paying 10 % of the applicable fares are not entitled for any baggage allowance.
Excess baggage charge:

The charge per kg of excess baggage is equivalent to 1.5 % of one way Adult fare.

  • 7 Kg in Business class & 5 Kg in Economy class.
